WAsP Map Editor is a specialized GIS utility for creating, editing, and validating the vector maps used by the WAsP wind resource modeling suite. Developed by Risø National Laboratory (Denmark), the tool enables wind analysts and GIS practitioners to build elevation contour and surface roughness change maps, manage projections and coordinate systems, digitize features, and convert data from common GIS formats into the WAsP .map format. It includes quality-control tools to check topology, correct geometry, and ensure consistent coding of map features so they perform correctly in WAsP flow modeling and siting analyses. With streamlined import/export and a focused interface, WAsP Map Editor helps prepare accurate terrain and land-cover inputs for wind resource assessment, site screening, and micrositing.
